My friend Meghan tagged me in this little blog game of tag. Since I was terrible at tag as a child (and would probably be even worse now), I decided to play this little game to make up for my sorely lacking skills in childhood. She asked me eight questions. I’ll provide my answers to these questions, then I’ll tag eight more people. I’ll ask them eight(-ish) different questions (I like to ask “Why?”), and hopefully (fingers crossed), at least one of them will humor me with their answers. If I didn’t tag you because you’d been tagged in MM’s post (or if you don’t have a blog or if you’re just not tagged), please feel free to answer in the comments! I’d love to know your answers to my questions!
My answers:
1. What is the one blog or website you can’t start your day without (other than mine, of course)?
Anchor of Gold (Vandy sports blog). This is true pretty much 365 days a year, but my addiction grows during basketball season (a.k.a. the happiest time of the year!).
2. How about the one song you could listen to on repeat for forever and ever?
Amen. Dave Barnes. I can’t believe this song wasn’t in my life a year ago.
3. What is your ultimate to-die-for dessert, either that you’ve made or someone else has made, and why?
This is pretty much an impossible question, MM. I guess if I had to pick one, it would be my dad’s/grandmother’s homemade chocolate ice cream. Dad gave me a small ice cream freezer this summer, so I’ve now made it, too!
4. What is in your refrigerator right now?
Romaine lettuce. Turkey. Swiss cheese. Sandwich bread. Honeycrisp apples. Brita pitcher. Milk. Cheddar cheese. Condiments. Diet Coke.
5. What is your favorite book or magazine, and why? If you don’t have a favorite, then what’s the last one you read?
Hmm. I’m assuming you don’t want to hear about my current favorite medical textbooks (Neuroanatomy through Clinical Cases) which is the only book I have time to read right now. I have a couple of magazine subscriptions, but even those go unread because all of my reading is notes for class. Favorite books are always difficult to choose because I love different ones for different reasons. However, I have always loved and will always love Rilla of Ingleside which is the eighth and final book in the Anne of Green Gables series. I used to read the entire series every summer, but this one I read even more often.

I had one copy of this particular cover by itself and then another copy of the book in the boxed set...obsessed much?
6. Baking, cooking, or takeout? Why?
Baking. The process soothes my soul, and I love to share the end product!
7. What was your best food experience in the last few months?
Well, living where I do, I don’t have many “best” food experiences. Cooking for one on a budget is slightly boring, and the restaurants in the area are slightly lackluster. It’s been a few months now (I guess it was June/July?), but I hosted a dinner party while house-sitting. I made mini BLT appetizers, honey pecan chicken, a caprese pasta salad, and a summer salad. Neal supplemented with some asparagus and some cheese dip since he hadn’t gotten to cook in a month. I love to play hostess, and it was so fun to get to try some new recipes and to spend the afternoon prepping for the meal. The best part? We went to the Sweet CeCe’s in downtown Franklin for dessert. Yum.

I could go for some red velvet cake fro-yo with marshmallows and mini chocolate chips right now...and always.
8. What inspired you to start blogging? What has been your favorite post on your own blog?
Back in the day (the day being high school), I had a Live Journal blog (entitled “Rain falls on sunny days”). Then I got a Xanga (Did it have a title? Does anyone remember?). Then, I deleted both. Then, Emma inspired me to try again, so I began a Blogspot account (entitled “driving with the windows down”). I finally migrated on over to WordPress last spring, and I’m so glad I did! I try to use the blog as a scrapbook/way to keep in touch/creative outlet while I’m in school. I have a decent variety of posts, but one of my favorites is from my trip to Paris. I tried a bit of humor, and I had fun with it.
Tag! You’re it! (I tried to tag people that hadn’t already been tagged…and a few that haven’t written in a while because I miss your posts!)
My questions for y’all:
1. If you had to move to a different city tomorrow, where would you choose to live?
2. What is your favorite soundtrack (Broadway, movie, television show, etc.)?
3. Do you make your bed every single day? (No judgment here…I definitely don’t, but I love days when I do!)
4. What is the DVD you watched most recently?
5. Do you have a “signature dish” that you cook/bake/etc? If so, what is it?
6. What was the last song or album you purchased from iTunes?
7. If you had to give up chocolate or peanut butter, which would you choose? Why?
8. Were you good at tag as a child? Why did you agree to play this little version of tag?

So I’m sure we’ve discussed this endlessly before, but I totally read the entire Anne of Green Gables series every summer until I was 18 … and yes, Rilla of Ingleside was AMAZING! I’ve been thinking about picking the series up again because I miss it so much.

I do not have a blog, but I like your questions.
1. I would move to Nashville because I love it!
2.I love the soundtrack to Master and Commander (I love many others as well but this one I think I love the most because it popped into my head first). I love it because it is relaxing and helps me chill out.
3. I definitely don’t. I also love days when I do, it feels so fresh when you crawl in at night.
4. Anne of Green Gables I think is what I watched most recently.
5. I don’t think I have a signature dish. I tend to mix it up.
6. I had to look this up which is kinda sad. Perhaps Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show…that or Lady Antebellum self titled album.
7. Neither. I like them to much and refuse to give them up.
8.I loved tag as a child, all versions but tv tag was my favorite.

i LOVED Rilla of Ingleside too! Now you are making me want to re-read the series, but unfortunately I think my mom has probably thrown it out by now.
